Cold starting difficulties

Cold start seems to be one of the most common complaints about E10 fuel and has spawned a whole industry of additives to deal with it (and ain't cheap!!!...$30 for a bottle that treats 25 gallons???...do the math on that one). Rather than trying to time my consumption, I simply started buying premium fuel (ethanol free) and use the old pink Stabil if I know the can is going to be around for a few months.

Update: a step in the right direction. Made some room in the garage and it's now inside. Probably going to update to a new battery soon, and possibly a heater. We'll see how the funds are.

Another update:

went to TSC last saturday and went in search of the B&S battery, but they didn't have any, even after I called and they said they had 9. After doing some researching with an employee, it turns out they are now called "Huskee by Exide" to match the rest of the batts. they sell. Whatever, it still has 420 C.A. and was the same price.

After install, outside temp was probably low 40s high 30s and inside garage was probably high 40s (insulated garage but no climate control) and it performed much better than the meijer (those who don't know what Meijer is, it's like a super walmart, based out of Michigan. They are known for produce/grocery but carry all sorts of things, from hardware to garden to appliances, etc) battery that was in it. The HUSKEE battery has a date on it as well, in case I ever forget.

Cranked the engine over much faster, and started on the second revolution. I put the charger on it overnight, tested it today (monday) it spun the engine even faster, so things are looking for my starting issues.

Warmed it up, ran it at about half throttle, checked the s/g and she's putting out a steady 13.5/14v. It's looking more promising.

Thanks for all your help thus far. I'm hoping it complies when it gets real cold out too.
