Default Roland--ALERT on Pre-paid Posting!

Roland,

I tried to PM you but you're acct. isn't receiving any PM's right now or else you've been temporarily suspended by the admin. of this site--haha....

Just wanted to let you know that your post explaining this section has a phrase that probably not intended, namely:

The Listing will run until the item is sold or 30 Days which ever is more.

It should be: "The Listing will run until the item is sold or 30 Days, whichever comes first."

As stated, the listing would have to run indefinitely if the item didn't sell!! I don't think that is the way that you intended it to be, so I wanted to alert you before someone posted in that thread and made a claim against this statement when their ad was pulled! Just trying to let you know....

Don't know why the PM thing didn't work for you. I get PM's all the time.

I will better explain the concept.

I also could not PM you when I tried, so I instead emailed you through the site and didn't get a response anyways.

I think there's not enough legal verbage.... There should be at least 10 paragraphs stating about said item and another 10 about OCC will not be held liable, and finally another 10 stating everything that isn't stated in the 1st 10 that will be covered in the future 10...

You are probably right. Locally here, you can't watch TV for any more than 10 minutes when a commercial comes up from some attorney wanting to get you some free money from all sorts of causes. Of course, they never mention the 1/3 of the take they get.

they only take a 1/3 up that way? Wow, I need to start some baseless claims up that way! haha. Ya, the attorney commercials with the bad acting is everywhere.

Ok, I was beginning to wonder if you had gotten yourself in trouble and had your PM account revoked! As far as that extra sales thread---is it really something that would benefit or enhance this site---in my opinion, no. There is already CL and other places to sell items if people want. Is that the feature that you are missing off of this site? It just seems like there could potentially be too much liability with it and the benefits don't outweigh the risks. I always try to be proactive, instead of reactive in thinking through a situation--so what's the worst thing that could happen--liability and litigation, possibly shutting the forum down and that's not what anyone wants......unless it's someone who wants to make ill gain profit from it.

Well, if any good came out of what I have said it is that Roland got his PM situation taken care of!

The ONLY reason this pilot project was offered was to see if it would offset the constant criticism we get about the For Sale Section. People don't read the "Ad Policies" (Don't know why) and they list items with missing information. We only ask for common sense information for four basic items (A) what is for sale w/description, (B) a price, (C) a location where the item is located, and (D) a means of contacting the seller. And, all this was for FREE. We are making it easier for the item to sell. Yet people can't or won't see that.

So, in an attempt to curb the complaining, this project was considered as an alternative.

As of today, I know of no one that is or was interested and looks likely to be deleted by years end.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
