Finding Serial Number(s)
I'm working on my 108 (that I've had for 35 years). I see a SN on the engine shroud and a number on the back of the transaxle. Is there another SN someplace?

The serial number on the engine shroud should be the serial number of the Kohler engine.
The serial number on the tag attached to the rear axle housing is the serial number of your tractor. It should read the number, and the International Harvester Company, Chicago, Illinois. Somewhere on this forum, there should be an explanation of interpreting the tractor serial number. I am sure someone here will supply the link.

OK, that chart is helpful. My 108 is 457403, so that puts it in Jan/Feb 1973. Roland, thanks for posting the S/N chart link. I knew it was a couple years old when I bought it in 1978 or 1979, but wasn't sure what year model it was.
