Wow! you get off cheap, try and double that price around here. 75 miles any direction from here is $700 to $1,100, but you will find the one guy who will do it in his spare time for $300 to $500, but he had all the wrong answers to my questions.

that is pretty cheap. I get $550 - 600 for a rebuild with aftermarket parts. that includes a crank grind, boring and valve seat cutting. OEM kohler stuff is getting pretty out of line with pricing

Default rebuild

Having my 10 hp Block bored out now at a machine shop for $35, if he can clean it up he will put a new sleeve in it and make it standard again, order undercut valve for $53 and new valve guides for $24 going to get a after market piston and gaskets for $59, we put it back together myself, the last rebuild was 7 years ago, not to bad for my puller with a LP Head and 18 hp cam at 4000 rpms. pull from 40 to 80 times a year

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
