Thats a very nice 86! The 86s are the 5th rarest ih cub built (800,169,126,73,86) i payed 400 for mine and its in about the same shape minus the ags. In my opionion if i was still looking for an 86 to complete mycollection, i would give up to500 bucks on it. Just my thoughts tho

I didnt know the CC 86 was so rare. I got mine for $200 and people have tried and tried to buy it after i put ags, a custom sleeve hitch, breaking plow, and new motor in it. I have the 14HP Kohler instead of the 8HP since it was gone when i got it, but Id pay about $600 if I had to with a new CC 86

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
