Creeper Gear Install

Hey,

I picked up a creeper gear for my 1200, and I now have got to cut the drive shaft at the factory grove on the shaft. So far so good.


My service manual shows a coupler to connect the creeper to the drive shaft with a steel coupling and two roll pins (offset 180* from each other).


My question is; You don't use the rear coupling arms (that I cleaned and painted) and the new swivel bushing and flex coupling I picked up at the local CC dealer?

I read through lots of old posts and pictures but never found the answer.

I post pictures of the 1200 "rebuild" and paint progress as soon as the daughter shows me how to down load them off the camera.

I have never installed a creeper, but if I were to do it..I would make everything the same, by using a rag joint. Basically, hook it up exactly like it was to your original transmission input shaft..If that makes since.

Sounds like you're on the right track. First, cut the driveshaft at the factory line. Make sure to cut it square. You will reuse the coupler that originally hooked the driveshaft to the input shaft. You now will put that coupler on front of the creeper and hook that to the new, shortened driveshaft. I just did it on my 800 and it works great. Good luck and show up some pics!!
