Nice find! I assume she's still sporting it's original muffler and air cleaner as well? She looks to be in great shape. I've only got one 800, but it's fun to play around with. I've added a creeper and rear PTO since I've owned it. How about a lineup of all your 800's. That would be cool. I still think Pennsylvania is the mecca of cub cadets. Must be ten cubs for every one person.

Great find!

So, you have 5x 800s. Now, the real question is....

How many total Cubs does this make?!?

Mike needs more fingers and toes for that count. Got to give my buddy Mike a hard time about his collection.

I think I know another guy in KY with 5 or more 800's. Seems there are a lot of them around for them being so rare.

That would be Jess who has 5, 6, or 7. I'm not sure he knows how many he's got. And Paul seems to have them coming and going too. It seems every time he gets rid of one, another shows up.

Thanks Todd, Josh, and Conner!

Josh it is still sporting the original muffler and duct piece but the PO lost the original air cleaner! He put a round one on it so now I have to find one of those!
One of these days I will get a group shot of them all but there are a few buried and haven't seen the light of day for a few years! hehe

So it was Jess. I knew it was one of em. Paul seems to find both of the Cub Cadet 8 horses. Whether it's an 800 or 86, he's finding them. Lately, more of the 86 type.

Cubcrazy,
The 86 I picked up this spring was in my buddy's barn for roughly 5 years. He lives on a gravel road, so I had to clean off about a half an inch of dirt. Hopefully the aircleaner would be the easier of the 800 only parts to find.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
