I had a 1650 that had the frozen link at the hydraulic unit , kept spraying it with PB Blaster and working the lever and it evenutually broke loose , but it took awhile.

Default 60" haban deck

Well, tried to mow last night with the new toy... was almost done and the deck belt broke! I guess seeing other posts sounds like that happens! So, I figure now that the belt broke I should look into selling the deck. I want the 50" deck so that I can take it off easier. Any ideas what the deck is worth? It has a fresh coat of paint and has brand new blades. Looks really nice. I'll try to get some pictures up next week... Thanks!

You could probably get about $300 off the deck if it is in good shape and no rust.

Wish you lived closer - I would like to get a 60" deck instead of a 50. Two acres takes quite a while.

I sold this one for $150.00 including the mule drive. The guy drove from Cleveland Ohio up to Grand Blanc to get it.

That's awesome on getting the blade for free. I'd sure love to find one for my 1872.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
