Default 149 engine in 125 Cub
Hello everyone,

New guy here with a quick question... I am rebuilding a 125 and have a chance to buy a K321 out of a 149 for a good price - will it drop into the narrow frame of the 125? Seems to me it should fit just fine but thought I would consult higher authority :-)

The flywheel and cooling tin on the K321 are too wide to fit between the 125 frame rails. The 147 was the only narrow frame tractor that came with a 14 hp. If you look at 147 pics you can see how they notched the frame for clearance. If you can cut and weld it would be an easy job to modify your frame the same way.

Yes if ya do this. Save the engine tin from the 301. You have a NF and the 149 is a WF. That means that the coil sits lower on the NF. By using the fan shroud from your 12hp the coil will be where it needs to be. The other thing to do is use the flywheel from your 12hp k301. Now it fits into the frame no problem. What am I forgetting? I think that's it.

The bearing plate would also need to be changed.
