hey i recently found a Cub Cadet 782. the guy who has it showed up to look at my 127 i have for sale, he ended up buying a John Deere GT, but happened to tell me he has a 782 cub he is replacing with whatever he decided to buy. i asked him if i could buy it he said maybe. well i texted him the next day and he said sure.
so now, im going to be buying this 782. is there any thing i should look for with problems with it? it has a Magnum 18 kohler in it (i don't know if its original or not) but comes with Ag tires, hub caps, 52" blade, 44" mower deck, 42" snowthrower and a #2 tiller. all for $450. ill post pics of it when i get it home. but just wondering if there are any known problems with this series as ive never owned anything newer than a quietline. |

If you don't buy it, let me know! I am in Western, PA. All of those attachments/accessories would go great with my 782 for that price!

Im pretty positive im going to buy it. Even though just about every garden tractor interests me....the 82 series have always been a favorite of mine next to the john deere 140s. After looking at the pic of it....looks like the dash is a little cracked and banged up....how hard are these to replace? |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
