clutch recomendations
ive got a project in mind with a 154 loboy motor in a 1x8 frame. i got the lowboy clutch parts but idk if i want to try rigging that clutch system in with the cub cadet pedal and stuff.
so im wondering what you guys would recomend for a clutch? maybe a red spring with a 6 pin driver and an aluminum disc would be enough or something in that order? i know its only 15 horse but i bet its gunna be torquey. thanks guys

You would have to mount the motor with the fan facing the back of the tractor or use the rear end housing out of it as they are the same as a cub cadet but the ring gear has been flipped and the pinion shaft is different to accommodate a clockwise turing motor.Have fun!!!

Sounds like a neat project. But Lew's right, gonna have to put the motor in backwards or do some swapping, flipping, etc........ The cadet sure would purr with that little four cylinder though.

I'm anxious to hear how this project goes! I also have a project in the works with transplanting a 4 cyl. out of a 154 lo-boy in a cadet. I think I might go the hydro route though (a little easier) and it's going into a 1440. Can't wait to see updates.

I have no idea about the clutch but i think i can speak for all of us when i say WE NEED MOCK-UP PICS lol

Dont let other people discourage you Nick. Its possible, may need to come up with some sort of reverser...add the lowboy drop axles to the rear end would be sweet. But then youd have three reverse and one forward...might be able to switch some stuff up on that.

Did the Farmall cub/lowboy not use the same transaxle as the cub?
Thinking they did, and the ring gear was on the other side. I do know the Farmall 400 I have, has the ability to switch the ring gear for that application in the HiLo's that were built using those differentials.
