At the moment I don't have plans to go to the portland show.

Looks like you just a headlight panel, hood, hood hinge, side panels, and some sheetmetal for the motor. I should have all of that stuff.

Thanks guys for your kind comments and great advice! The fender pan is shot, so I may see if my 129 pan will work-it looks the same, just a different color, but I'm not for sure about the battery box.

I mowed with it tonight. The PO mod has eliminated the spring to the brake. It was like a rocket ship! That poor concrete pedestal and statue on top of it didn't stand a chance. Now it's one crumbled statue, one chipped pedestal and no damage to the cub. Can't wait until I try to mow the neighbor's yard tomorrow.

I'm sure that I will be asking a lot of questions in the near future about this cub, since I have to jump it from the car battery to the solenoid to start it as just one of the first things that must change.

Oh, by the way, if anyone is interested in the 1282, then see the posting in the CL/EBay deals.....It's in Fountain City, IN and he wants a little over $400 for it!

129 fender pan is not the same and will not work without destroying it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
