don't know if I can sweet talk the wife or not.... I still got that '49 FA Cub that needs some work, but I'd love the 147.

That's the plan, just figured I'd mention it to the guys that are into the real CC's. Haven't even unloaded them off the trailer yet. Trying to get the floor ready to pour concrete in what will be the "CubMahal"

That's my problem, I hate to see a parts tractor get parted out let alone a good running complete tractor. There are several guys on ebay that must make a killing on parting out fine good running tractors, and never loose a nights sleep over it. I try not to buy from those folks.

Just my 2 cents, if a tractor still runs and has more life left in it I like to keep them going but when they need more than it's worth unless they are very rare well then it makes sense to part them and keep others going. The guys that do it for a living provide us with a source of otherwise unavailable parts and for that we should be thankful. I doubt that most people think about how hard they work or about how much money they have tied up in inventory.

You got a good point. I basically was refering to the ones who take a beautiful healthy good running tractor and part it out for no other reason but to make more money! Me personally I would rather loose a few bucks and sell it to someone who would use it then to make more and part it out. There are still a few of these old tractors left but everyday there is less and less of them. One day a common 782 will be rare!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
