They pull a pretty penny used also . I'm wondering if it wouldnt be better to have someone who has access to machining equipment , and a welder just make up the spacers and weld them onto the frame like the earlier Ql series used , and just use the pin .. wink wink..

I have a lathe and a welder at home plus work in a machine shop

I found a pic on that auction site



I can make them if I get dimensions.

I wonder if it would work by measuring the pin for the older QL's , the hole size in the frame and then measure the gap between the lift to the frame , as the lift is centered.

That would give you most of the unknowns , As I do not think length would be that critical if they were longer than stock , since the old style uses the solid shaft with washer and cotter pins on the ends. Most of that gap would probably be used by the jam nut , providing it wasn't too wide , then the left over could just be a washer or two.


Or if those original bolt dimensions can't be located by mid week , Ill spring on a used set , and you can measure them , and make some if you get any requests.

I'll need the hole size the bolts go thru, the distance between the frame and the casting and the hole size in the casting. That can all be figured out on your 1450. No use spending extra money.

I think i have to use the franken bolts on my setup also. my 1650 is a late 79 so im guessing i have to use them. i dont see any spacers welded on. i could do that though as i have a welder. anyone know why they changed them? it seems like the solid bar would be more stout or are teh bolts just easier to put on. would you have to take the wheel off to put the solid rod in? looks to be just a turned down, bolt. i can even see some chuck marks on the head. i still have not seen any dimensions of them yet. i do not have the rest of the hitch pieces to reverse the measurements from. are these used with any washers? any pics with teh frankenstein bolts installed?

JEFF IN PA had stopped down when he dropped off the hitch sleeve he made and took some measurements . I do not know far along he has gotten with making them . Maybe he will chime in with his intel on the ease of turning them down.

I'm trying to find affordable bolts to use. $6 per bolt before I do any machine work is ridiculous. I asked our purchaser at work to look into it, if there are less expensive bolts to use, he'll find them.

I'll pick up the material for the sleeve hitch adapter/trailer ball set up on friday afternoon.

I know what the ebay bolts sell for, I want to offer them for less money.

Worse case scenario is I make bushings and you use a 5/8" pin for your lift.
