I am not saying the new Cubs are better than the old ones, I am saying they are better than the newer alternatives, and are still a high quality machine. I know many people who have the 1000 series Cubs and are very happy with them. Also, many people can not afford the large price difference between the 1000 and 2000 series. I am not against the old Cubs(look at my signature), but I do not hate the new ones.

By the way...My Dad has a new LTX1045, and it is a great machine. I would never use an old Cub for my primary mowing tractor, either, it is nowhere near as convenient to mow with.

My 125 ( and 122 ) are my every day "go to" lawn mowing tractors, both have 42" cast iron end decks. They do everything well except cut grass fast. I have just under an acre and I'll spend the extra 10 minutes to use a well running old cub.

Todd, a 2000 series will suit her needs fine.
