I finally found the PTO off of my nephew's 73. As far as I know it has not been redone. The spring is compressed pretty good on it too.



There are actually more threads exposed on the three bolts than yours.



I measured from the back plate till the gauge touched the spring and come up with an 1 11/16" .

ah, thanks I feel better now. I see you used a depth gauge on the back side. What was the depth? I see this pic.

ah ok, thanks that will give me one more check to do before I but it on tonight.
So is the pto normally painted cub white? I might just paint it before I put it on. Might as well while it is off. Does TSC carry the cub rattle can paint?

They are usually painted white yes.

They have International White but this is probably a closer color to match your aging white.
