My 149 had pin striping around the rear fender pan. Little black pin stripe neatly done, looks like factory, all around the edge under the tail lights, over the wheels and around the foot rests.
Was this factory? I'd like to put it back. I would have posted a picture, but painted over it. Dave |

There wasn't any pin striping from the factory.

I may try to put it back after getting it painted. It was put on very neatly, looked like a factory job.
Isn't there a little device you can get to put that on....has a little roller wheel that does the painting? Thanks for the reply Dave |

Pin striping is usually done by hand with a tapered long bristle brush.

JC Whitney used to carry that style of pinstriper. But that was many years ago from what I recall.

Virtually every car in the '80s had pin stripe tape.
It worked good, and lasted. Our Federated auto Parts store carries it in many colors and several widths. Much easier than paint, if you hold the tape long, it is easy to align!! This is red tape I had so I added it at the last minute. ![]() |

The tool is called the Beugler Pinstriper tool. If you Google it there is even a video showing it being demonstrated. James K

Every professional pinstriper I saw back in my car lot days tacked one end, drew slight tension into the section they were holding and eyeballed it onto the vehicle. Perfect every time.

I see one goes for $87.50 and it does nice work. Mine must have been rolled on, it doesn't show any wavering from a brush. I could imagine what mine would look like if it were brushed on.
Thanks for the link and the info Dave |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
