If my memory holds the 1572 was made 1987 and 1988 and the 1772 for one year in 1989.
Let me guess....you likely have 1 of each in your collection!??

What is the tractor up on the home page currently (2/1/12)? Are there more pictures of this machine elsewhere on the forum?

This cub wasn't built by IH with the hydro, it was a prototype by Sunstrand, and they built two on the O actually. It should have the Sunstrand Model 15-U hydro trans coupled to the cub differential. It was a hard sell to IH from what I've heard, guess they weren't to keen on the idea, little did they know that almost the entire cub line would become hydro!

When I saw the name of the thread as "Header Pics", I was thinking automotive headers and was uninterested! Silly me!

The Cub in color photo(s) is "Refurbished" by someone. The decals aren't correct

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
