You got a good deal there Yosemite Sam. I didn't know the pile of parts on the pallet was an original, I just wanted the motor that was sitting there. I've been wanting an original and this one is a good start. One axle is broke & second and third gear is out of it. Guess I should of spent another dollar for the crate full of extra parts(rear ends, steering parts, wheels...).
superduty5.9 if the snow thrower doesn't fit a wide frame then I might get rid of it. Anyone know what it fits, or do I need to take some measurements? My 108 isn't here right now. |

That thrower will basically fit anything except an original. It'll fit your 108 just fine.

I've been looking around some but can't find parts for the snowthrower. It needs a chain and some parts that turn the top. Everything else seems ok, but I might go through the whole thing. Anyone know where I can get some parts?

The chain is just chain...any good farm/hardware store would have it. If you need the U-joint for the chute rotator, get one from mcmaster-carr. Much better than the original stamped steel U-joint. I wish I could remember the part number....I bought one to put on my thrower. What are you trying to find?

I have the rod that turns the chute? but I'm missing the pieces that go where I marked on the picture. Also might put new bearings and sprockets on, whatever it needs to freshen it up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
