Default A 1650 found its way into the garage

Happened upon this 1650 last night while surfin' CL. Trying to catch up the Lew and all the cubs he finds out East . Went to look at it this am and decided to bring it home with me. Figured someday I'd end up with a 1650 to keep the 800 in line (that's what my older brother did ). It's in pretty good shape. Original paint with the normal blemishes. What sold me was the dual hydraulics. PO had bought an estate and this was left behind. Supposedly had the fuel system cleaned and used it for the year mowing then parked it due to front seal leaking. Biggest problem is it was used as a battering ram and the headlight panel is broken and the cast iron lower grill was pushed back some and the frame tabs where the cast bolts on it bent up. Otherwise runs good, even without a muffler that was removed by the PO!! Talk about loud!
I know everyone likes pics, so here are a few.
Oh, BTW, sure am enjoying the 52* weather today in Iowa on January 6!! Set a record yesterday of 58*!

Even with the PO mods and broken front you found a good looking 1650. Great job.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
