Chris great pics and paint job! You have the hitch on right. Once you get the U adaptor in the right hole you'll be ready to start turning some dirt over. The share doesn't look that badly worn to me.

Chris, it's looking good.
I didn't get to do much with the 100 for the last week, been hunting and for the last three nights taking care of a sick dog. Dumb thing got an obstruction in his gut, not good.
But at least one of us is getting something done, fine looking.

Duke,
I have the lift all the way up and its only 2 inches off the ground. All the slack is out of the system. I have to change something? I put it back together the way it came to me but I have know idea what tractor it may have been on in a previous life.
When I look a Jay's plow int the POTW he has his beam in the upper clevis hole so it would raise the beam up a lot higher. I was going to try that.
Anyone know the age or style/type of this plow? I doesn't look like the early Brinley plows. Off to search of information.
I think it will plow good when I get adjusted. Like you I dont think the share is worn much. May not plow much with it for a year or so.

Todd,
Hope the dog recovers!
We start hunting Monday for whitetails again
Regards,
Chris

It would be a shame to get that plow and cub dirty. On my brinly setup the straps on the adapter have the slots on top.

Chris in this pic you need to move the bolt to the other hole. Does your lifting straps have a slot at the bottom of them? If not you'll want that style so the plow free floats. I use the 3rd hole from the top but you'll have to play with your settings to fit your tractor.

Good luck with the hunt!

Guys,
Ooops, Sorry for misspelling the Brinly plow name as Brinley I am the worlds worst speller anyway. Thank goodness most of the time spell check helps!

My lift straps do have the slots. So these should go in the top? I can do that. Sounds like some have them at the top and some at the bottom? should be the same function?
Duke,
I am going out to move the clevis and beam to the other hole.
Allen,
Thanks!
Regards,
Chris

Default Brinly plow adjusted.

Duke,
Jed,
Thanks! Check these out. I may not have it 100%? I did not go out and plow an acre yet. But getting closer.
I first set the tractor up on 4 inch blocks (level) and moved the beam and clevis to the top hole as suggested. Then lowered the plow and leveled the plow with the screw. At this point I was trying to get the landslide about level with the ground.
I then let the furrow side of the tractor down and had the 4 inch blocks under the high side, left side, of the tractor. This position somewhat simulated being in a furrow. ( sorry on pictures, battery was dead in camera this morning)
More minor adjustments and that's where I am at for now. I think it would plow now. Just not sure how deep? Plow point is about 6-7 inches above the ground now when raised.
Thanks for the pictures and help. Duke what software do you use to draw the red circle on the picture? That is exactly where I made the major vertical adjustment. Almost seemed like there should be a third hole, in between?
Do you guys have the Brinly hitch, "U" shaped pivot bracket under draw bar, in the top center or lower hole on the tractor? I have mine in the bottom but raising it would lower the plow more I think.
Also I did not loosen the colter to swing. Should have done that but forgot
Sorry for all the questions: suffering from NTS (New Toy Syndrome)!
Regards,
Chris

Chris that looks great! Using the 4" blocks helps you get it close. I used MS paint to make that fancy red line. Nothing but the best software for me! Your adjusting nut needs to be screwed towards the rear of the plow. Loosen up the coulter and you'll be set. The U bracket setting depends on your tired spacing. Here's a link to the manual so you can get yours set right.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
