Default Another Check Valve ?

Alright guys my brother came up from IL to visit this weekend and got the thrower hooked up. i've always had a leak in the hydrostat and he said it leaked for as long as he had it. we did some digging and the check vales are leaking thru the top. i did a search and still have no definitive answer on if it needs new ones or do i put seals on the old ones?

From the tech section of the site. The price has gone up to $57 on the auto release valves but a lot cheaper then the dealer price. I don't think a home user can rebuild them without have the right tools for the job. We talked about this a couple of weeks ago.

I have seen guys rebuild them, but like Methos said you need some equipment. I thought i had some pictures of this process somewhere, but at the moment cant find it. I bought mine from LJ Fluid power.
If you do a search on (how to rebuild hydro release valve on Cub Cadet) you will find the link for how to rebuild.

The O-rings that are causing the problem are the internal ones, not the ones on the outside of the valve.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
