Working on the build of a parts cleaner as described in other posts here, using tank, washing soda and battery charger. Have the plastic drum, with 6 plates each 4 inches wide x 24 inches long attached around the inside, and wired together. Realized my small battery charge may not be adequate for 50 gallons of solution. We will see. Need too get the washing soda.
Have the old mold board plow just about dismantled and it sure could use a bath (lots of rust). I need some pictures of how the Brinley hitch is to be set up. If that works I might try to clean the snow blower up too at some point, probably in the spring. Hope things are good out there! Getting mentally ready for PA bear season next Monday and then opening of rifle season the Monday after Thanksgiving. Regards, Chris

Larry,
That helps! I want to plow some ground NOW! I havent turned over any soil with a mold board plow for 10-12 years! (farm tractors) Something about turning over the ground that is good for us .I see the two 5/8 bolts that push against the plow attachment clevis use the heads to push with I had not picked up on that yet. Makes sense from a wear stand point. I also like the idea of a rod across the bottom pivot point. I just had short pins in each side, not as stable. Your tractor and plow did a nice job turning over that piece of ground. So does a hydro have any advantages or dis advantages when plowing? Do you have the rears with liquid in them? Hope to get my rust cleaning tank going this weekend. Regards, Chris

Im brand new with plowing but its fun! With the single pin style plow I have I need an adapter thing that goes on the sleeve hitch before the plow is attached. The heads of the bolts have full contact on that piece. Near the bottom of my plow thread Merk posted a picture for me. He also helped me with adjusting it so it might be a good read for you. He talked about the 5/8 bolts and how mine needs adjusting to pull the plow more towards the right. Here is the thread. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...t=plow+weightsI dont have any fluids but I do have 2 20lb Massey Ferguson 8" rim wheel weights and a log chain hidden in my under seat toolbox. Plus the 2 25lbs on the wheels. It works ok on softer soil but harder packed I did have a problem. I also noticed if you are trying to plow with high weeds the weeds plug it up and it just skims across the top.

Larry and folks, a bunch of stuff to get out of my head
1. Brinley plow 2. 125 and IH pull behind cart. I think #1 3. Three point hitch questions? 4. snow blower? 1.Here are some shots of the plow disassembled. Blaster worked great and only had to heat one of the square nuts. Plow experts is this plow point worn out? I have no reference, other than to say the rest of the plow does not look very used. Could someone measure their plow point and or post a picture of a new one? Also if not worn out does it need to be touched up on the underside of the cutting edge? If I get the cleaning tank going this weekend these parts will be the first to try. 2. My neighbor has this 125 that I have made a offer on. He also has a #1 cart that I think he will sell with it. Both are rough. should I bring them home? What a thing to ask a bunch of Cub nuts Guess I know the answer, but thought I would tease you a little. Maybe I could trade him some maple syrup or honey?3. Some shots of the three point hitch (Brinley) I took Larrys advice / idea and made a solid 1/2 inch rod across the bottom pivot point. Then for the top link pin, I use the remaining piece of 1/2 inch bar and fabed a "T" handle. Question do the slots in the lifting rods go at the top or the bottom? Or does it matter? I could not see on Larry pics and was to lazy to do the research. sorry. 4. Has any one thought about mounting the snow blower on the rear of a cub? Now that's just crazy talk ![]() Regards, Chris

Wow, your rear lift looks good!
Im not sure on the plow tip. On the lift straps I dont think it matters but I do think its suppose to be like you have them. If it was the other way then you might risk having them hit something being lower all the time? But even at the highest setting the lift straps being lowest(if it was other way) its probably still higher then the tip of the sleeve hitch. Im not sure but I think you are correct with the way you have it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
