OK everyone cool off before this get's out of control.

Dodger
Here's the deal. If you want help we need proper info. Model, a good description of the problem, pics of the problem area are a great help. As I have said before take the time to look in the tech section so that you will be able to help us help you.

Jon
I get it that you are trying to help but you can back it down a notch. Remember you are dealing with someone that seems to be having some difficulty describing what his problem is.

Clint
Thanks for your concern, the matter will be addressed.

I don't think J-Mech was being too much of a jerk I think he got frustrated with dodger9714's lack research and repetitive questions basically asking the same thing over and over. I don't think there was a need to apologize for him but I'll step out of this one now, just felt like I should throw in my

Anywho, back on topic, start with the bearing, read the manual and come back with any questions. BTW, welcome aboard, it's a great group of peopleh here!

Do you think it is this bearing? If so, the part number can be seen here:

the bearing part number is 385077 R91

That would be the seal, not the bearing.

Clint-
J-Mech doesn't need anyone to apologize for his actions. I would do the same thing. That is one of the main reasons I don't post very much anymore. You to apolgize to J-Mech.

dodger9714-
Get a manual from the tech section-do some reading-them pull the tractor apart to see what is wrong. Someone did post about going to parts tree to get part numbers. Another good place to get parts is one of the vendors at the top of the page. Chris at Cub Classics is a good guy to work with.

The only way you will learn is roll up your sleeves and get busy.

As you can see from the discussion, it is extremely important not to run the tractor anymore as serious ( catastrophic ) damage will occur. Gears are designed to mesh within thousandths of an inch. Worn bearings will cause even more damage to occur.

Find your tractor in the tech section and both read the manual plus study the diagrams.

We're more than happy to help but need good info from you to give you the best advice. Pictures would help too.

I know,

I'm not here to put you down..........
I wish you were closer to Northwest Ohio. I like to help someone (young or old) learn to work on the old Cub Cadets. It sounds like you want to learn.....PM me if you want to someone who has been working on IH Cub Cadets for the last 35 to 40 years. I've teach a young man with a mild learning disability overcome it. He should finish his 4 year engineering degree later this summer. I used several of my IH Cub Cadets to teach Steve how to think things thru.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
