Default What's it worth

I was at a tractor show yesterday talking to a guy that had a nice O and another guy walks up and wants to know if anyone wanted to buy a Cub . We talked for a little and he didn't know much about it but said that it had been sitting outside for 15 + years. He told me that he got it to restore but never got around to doing it and didn't want it to rust away and wanted to see somebody that would. He did tell me that the guy he got it from said that it had a thrown rod. I could turn the motor only about a 1/4 inch but the deck maybe frozen. It has the 3 point with spring assist, the rear tires are not on the tractor but are there, the hood looks to be in good shape but does hit the steering wheel when opened the CI deck looks to be rotted away. I think he's open for anything but I want to be fair with him. I have been wanting a 70 or 100 to add to the barn. What would you guys offer him?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
