What's it worth
4 Attachment(s)
I was at a tractor show yesterday talking to a guy that had a nice O and another guy walks up and wants to know if anyone wanted to buy a Cub :OMG:. We talked for a little and he didn't know much about it but said that it had been sitting outside for 15 + years. He told me that he got it to restore but never got around to doing it and didn't want it to rust away and wanted to see somebody that would. He did tell me that the guy he got it from said that it had a thrown rod. I could turn the motor only about a 1/4 inch but the deck maybe frozen. It has the 3 point with spring assist, the rear tires are not on the tractor but are there, the hood looks to be in good shape but does hit the steering wheel when opened the CI deck looks to be rotted away. I think he's open for anything but I want to be fair with him. I have been wanting a 70 or 100 to add to the barn. What would you guys offer him?

If it was me, around here, I wouldnt offer a penny more than 100.00 and that is being really generous. Often I see them put together and running for 200.00. The spring assist is nice though and I think that could be worth around 75.00. It looks like you could have some time and money in it. The steering cap is missing. Looks like the muffler is blown out. Shifter ball is missing. Odds and ends like that will add up. Not to mention the engine rebuild.
It all depends on how bad you want it though. I try not to ever let $20-60 stand in my way of something. Thats just a night out on the town that I will happily sacrifice. Just my 2cents |
$100 is more than fair for it, it looks to be fairly solid..

SO???? Did ya buy it Oak? :WWP: if you did!

I think 100$ would be a fair price.I bought my 86 (128) for that and I had to put a lot of money into it. It doesn't look to bad.

Wow,
but I have seen worse... If the hood hit the steering wheel ,look for cracks or breaks where the front grill casting is bolted to the frame, bent or damaged holes.Looks like someone chewed up the steering wheel trying to get it off, there is no way to check the condition of the tranny without any tires on it if shifts at all... $ 50.00 is the most I would pay, especially trying to get it moved to your truck |
I did pick up the 100 and someday I will get it going. He was a real nice guy and I gave him $80 but he said "we agreed on $75". I also sold my 1200 and picked up a nice 1282 to replace it. Of coarse it doesn't run either. I will post some pics soon. I didn't take any pictures of the 100 and had to stuff it in the barn quick, I think I forgot to tell my wife that I got it. Ooops.
