Not a Haban, Cub Cadet 50c. But yes, deck and belt in place.
I can engage the PTO with no belt on, and it does not effect the tempo of the motor at all.




Did you check/clean/replace the air filter? Fuel filter? I skimmed through the thread, didn't see anything but I didn't study all the posts.

No, I have not done the filters. I will do that this afternoon. I need to bleed the air out afterwards, correct?


Did you perhaps wire up the glow plug relay incorrectly? Try disconnecting it and see if the fuel pump still runs.
I will disconnect the glow plug relay and try that, but it was all working fine.

Even with the old ignition switch, everything powered down, with the switch in the "off" position. The only reason I replaced the switch was because I had to jump the solenoid to get the motor to crank over. As it turned out, it was a relay causing that problem, not the switch.

Also check for wires shorting out next to the forward/rev hydro lever on the dash.

That's what I was thinking. I was "cycling" those levers quite a bit messing around with the 3pt and getting the deck height adjuster set at the correct position. Its pretty congested behind the dash, that switch is not an easy thing to replace.

Look down through the slot in the dash as you move the lever back and forth with the engine not running. I've run across 2 cubs where the flat stock that attaches to the lever wore through some wires on the harness. When you get multiple wires shorting out, no telling what's going to turn on, turn off or light up.

Couple other things;

1. When I parked it for the night, I noticed the threaded "J" hook for one of the mule drive pulleys was laying on the shop floor. In my haste to do some seat time, I didn't notice it had fallen off. Not sure if that would have had any effect on why it was bogging the motor down so bad, when the PTO was engaged.

2. The indicator lever for the lift hieght, will not stay sticking through the slot in the tunnel cover. What am I doing wrong there? I pull it in place with a screwdriver, next time I look down, it's hidden inside the tunnel again.


3. Is my Haban H42 snow thrower going to work on this? It looks like the quick release is he same as the 782, but what about the lift arm? The 782 has a arm with a hole in it, above the passenger foot board.

The 1772 does not have that? (This is actually a picture of the 2072 I used to have, but the 1772 looks the same)
