Well, after seeing all the fun 64fleetside has been having with his newly acquired 1650, I just couldn’t resist checking this one out;
1 new result for cub cadet, sort: relevant, as of 2015-09-24 09:05:06 AM EDT • Cub Cadet riding mower w/plow 16hp Kohler - (Rehoboth) View all the results. Unsubscribe from this alert. View all saved searches. Thank you for using craigslist. As it seems many of you have, I’ve been toying with the idea of building a 1600 for some time, or possibly swapping a K341 into my 1450 to run a QA42a and then building a 1400 but haven’t been able to come up with the engine. Seems to be plenty of 12 and 14 hp versions of the Quietlines around but rarely see any of the big boys. So, first day off in forever. Off I went in the high winds and heavy rain, crossing the Braga bridge (which has been under construction for the past 75 years) over the Taunton river and up into Rehoboth. Now talk about ironic, turns out I know the guy. He used to be the parts guy at the local John Deere Construction Equipment dealer. Haven’t seen him in years! And where did the tractor originally come from? Sylvia’s Lawn and Garden Center (now Goldsteins) in Westport, owned by the family of a friend of mine! I’ve been driving by there every day for the last 25 years! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
