How do you dispose of used Hy-Tran?
Hi all,
I was changing the Hy-tran fluid today in my 682, and as I was pouring the used fluid from the pan to a 5 gallon jug, I thought to myself "how am I gonna get rid of this stuff". I don't know why it never crossed my mind over the years with all the Hy-Tran changes I have done. I have close to 15 gallons of it now. I have a neighbor up the road who burns my used motor oil in his shop furnace, but he told me he will only burn motor oil...no hydraulic fluid. I called a couple of auto parts stores locally that accept used motor oil, and they both said they don't accept hydraulic fluid. Any ideas of what type of place to pursue next. I have a reputable JD dealer less than a 1/4 mile from my house, and they said they only dispose of fluid that they change in there shop..no drop offs. I would hate to have to pay to dispose of this stuff, as it already cost a fortune when its new..ugh Thanks, Jeff (teet)
