102 with no brakes

Bought a 102 last night. Trying to hide it in the barn before my wife got home we had a mishap . My wife pulled up in front of the house. My buddy tried to close the door while I finished getting the tractor down the ramps. I held the brake like I normally do and no brakes .102 goes down the ramps across the barn and into my 1650. I almost had a heart attack. But 102 hit 1650 in rear tire. No damage. Cover the 102 with a tarp by weight set ,where the dust sits , and my wife wont ever look. At least till xmas is over and she wont complain cause Im going to get her a extra good gift to make up for my addiction.
Well my question is if you have a bad throwout bearing does that cause the brakes to not work or jam them. I cant tear into this yet it has to stay hidden till after xmas

Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
