102 with no brakes

Bought a 102 last night. Trying to hide it in the barn before my wife got home we had a mishap . My wife pulled up in front of the house. My buddy tried to close the door while I finished getting the tractor down the ramps. I held the brake like I normally do and no brakes .102 goes down the ramps across the barn and into my 1650. I almost had a heart attack. But 102 hit 1650 in rear tire. No damage. Cover the 102 with a tarp by weight set ,where the dust sits , and my wife wont ever look. At least till xmas is over and she wont complain cause Im going to get her a extra good gift to make up for my addiction.
Well my question is if you have a bad throwout bearing does that cause the brakes to not work or jam them. I cant tear into this yet it has to stay hidden till after xmas

Good luck with that. My wife would already know something was up. You know that 6th sense they have. Your buddy is closing the door while your still in there, loud noises coming out of the garage. Surprised faces or funny expressions. Its best to come clean, maybe an early Christmas present. Ask me how I know... IMO your stepping off the cliff without wings.

Well I'll bite, how do you know

1. If she sees tarp off of any exercise equipment........she will know.
2. Exercise equipment tarp on on something else...........she will look.
3. Extra good Christmas gift and she says....................what did you do ?

Better to tell her you picked it up at the scrap yard. "Some jerk was going to junk this and I got it for the scrap price." Then you can tell her what a great deal it is. You owe me. :beerchug:

When I bought it cluth pedal was down and not disengaging clutch. I can see it not working. I looked up doing clutch/throw out bearing doesnt look to easy pulling motor and all. Didnt look up brakes on a 102. Are brakes a big job

Sam Mac I just might use that . It just might fly. It was pretty cheap

Sometimes the clutch disc will stick/freeze to the metal clutch plates and the clutch won't release. You can tap a putty knife or screwdriver between them to separate them.

The first half the clutch pedal travel works the clutch release. The second half works the brakes. See the manual for the adjustment or just look at the workings of the mechanism and it should be obvious what to do.

Some of you guys and your wives!:biggrin2:
