Cheap 782

There is a 782 on fleapay going for $255, but the engine smokes. I don't know what motor comes in a 782, nor how feasible it is to rebuild one. To tell you the truth, I know very little about the 82 series at all. This tractor is about 250 miles from me, don't know if it would be worth it or not. Another thought is that I need a deck and 3 point for my 149, and this 782 has both. With the price I see people paying for parts on fleapay, would it be worth buying it for the parts I need, then parting out the rest? Any thoughts welcome.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
