Default My first Cubs!

Thanks for the great site!! Picked up my first IH Cub Cadets on Feb. 7, 2011. A 126, an 86 and a 108, all have decks. The 108 and 86 both run...the 86 was running great after a good carb cleaning, tune-up, and clutch rebuild....until the exhaust lifter stuck
The 108 runs great!... it is just worn out..the K241 has already been bored to .020" over and the cylinder is worn to 3.285" (that's over .030").
The 126 is in pieces...it is almost complete..just missing some nuts and bolts and small little tid bits.

The rear of the 126

My son on the 86 in the Feb. 9, 2011 snow...

Nice lookin' line up!

Take good care of the 86, they are actually rare, due to the low number built by IH.

The engine block of your 108 can be sleeved by a machine shop. Then you will be back to standard bore, and ready for many more years of service

Please remember the OCC site sponsors when it comes time for replacement parts
Great score and what a way to get started in a great hobby!

Well said Bill!

Thank fella's!!!

I have checked a couple of machine shops....only one could sleeve the block @ $250.

If anybody knows a reputable shop that can sleeve the cylinder...please let me know.

I have contacted/viewed website.. at least two of the sponsors and will be getting some parts from them before too long. Have a good 'un!!

Great looking set of cubs!! Glad you're on this site and already have the "yellow fever". Now, if you only had a blade on the front to push all of that snow with!!! That attachment will soon come....

BTW, $250 to sleeve a single cylinder Kohler is crazy!! No way it should cost that much!
WOW, right into with a fleet I started with one and kept it that way for a whole month Nice start and welcome!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
