Default Started as replacing the fiber Button

This started as replacing the fiber button on the PTO clutch. I looked at the engine and frame and said this must be cleaned. Now waiting for a little time when it is dry outside to pressure wash this mess. I am going to put our Model 1 tiller on this tractor.

Looks like fun,a strong PTO is a must when running a tiller.Looks like it will clean up just fine.

From the looks of that mess you have an oil leak.maybe behind the pto basket.Good time to do it whilest you have it apart.

I have the same job to do on my 149 . when I got the grill removed I found he pto rockshaft frozen in the bushing. took a half can of pb blaster to free it up. once I got it moving I removed shaft and wire wheeled everything , greased it now it works great.

The oil seal was bad, and was replaced about a year ago or so. But did not think about cleaning up the frame. It is just so nasty, it needs done. The engine block looks about the same, so I am hopeing it will help the engine cool better.

I would start by using some good degreaser, before pressure washing. In fact, I would NOT pressure wash the engine, just use the degreaser and maybe a spray bottle of soapy water to clean it up. You might be amazed at how that gunk just drips off with some good degreaser without a pressure washer. Can't wait to see the "after" pictures.

Well, it was beautiful here today, so I got the 128 out and cleaned it. Used hose on the engine, pressure washed the frame and axles.

True and if your gonna break out the paint you might as well do the whole frame. Just consider it a soft restore, you can have it up and running in a month or two no problem. Lol
