Default 147 hydro pump reversal for CCW shaft rotation?

Is there anyone on here who has swapped the charge input around and used a different engine on a hydro? thanks

Don't do it.
What motor would you use that turns opposite anyway?

redneckarchery: You already asked this question in this thread:
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=36659

Doing this is not a great idea. If you can't find an engine, put an ad in the wanted section. I know you live in Florida where Cubs aren't as easy to find as they are in other parts of the country, but surely someone would find and ship you one. FWIW, where is the original motor? Can it be salvaged?

Default 147 hydro pump reversal for CCW shaft rotation?

If I decide to put an engine in they runs ccw( oposite of the Kohler)
I was told that
1. I could flip the input of the hydro around 180 degrees and make it compatible.
2. Someone on here sell an adapter for the Predator engine
I posted in another section and didnt really get an answer , instead it was the
DONT USE NOTHING BUT A KOHLER crowd.

So do what they did.

Take the charge pump off and rotate it 180°.
Take the ring gear out and flip it to the opposite side.

Ok, listen up. You have 3 threads started all asking the same question. 2 of which are in the same section. I'm going to put two of them together.

IIRC, I believe that "Only Cub Cadets" is the self acclaimed, "Friendliest Cub Cadet Site On The Net". If that is the case, WHAT THE CRAP IS GOING ON HERE???

I agree that Cubs came with a Kohler for a reason... I also agree that when we get a chance, we should help to guide someone who seems to have lost their way. I DON'T believe that anyone should be bullied!

The OP asked how to change direction of the pump and on multiple occasions has expressed his desire to use a different engine.

You don't have to agree with what he wants to do, but I think he deserves to have his question answered in a friendly mannor.

It is my contention that if you can help to answer his questions, then by all means answer them, otherwise get off the guys a$$ and leave him alone.

Am I correct in thinking that if you rotate the charge pump, it only reverses the direction of the "needed input" and doesn't reverse the direction of the output?

So, if you rotate the charge pump AND flip the ring gear... It will go backward with the lever in the forward position. Is that correct?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
