I checked to see if I still had the box and I do. I tracked down the part on O'Reilly's and here's the link. I lost the piece of paper telling you which post to use, but if you get this part, it'll tell you when you get it.
http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...1931&ppt=C0330 In the description is says: "Brand Information Contains spike suppressing diode on certain applications to extend ignition switch life and provide minimal interference with on board computers." SOOO it looks like this one has a diode in it but it worked like a charm for me.

I used this one from Stens on a 126.
Starter Solenoid (Stens) part # 435-431 (used on a 71-1X2 thru 147) Not sure if it will work on your 109.

Wire in question should be connected to the s terminal.

Both large terminals are Positive! No Negative! And use S terminal for starting

The solenoids are the same. But why not go get a new one. That Ford solenoid is correct, and they are like $10-$15.... Just go get a new one. Oh, and Grampie is 100% correct!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
