Called a friend and he sent me a custom made bushing for the 147 carb shaft.
I believe the dimensions were .250 I.D. .4375 O.D and about .100 thick. Made of a brass material. Worked great! I made a mistake and did not allow the butter fly plate to re-seat when I tightened the screws and had to take the carb back off and loosen the screws and allow the plat to get into the fully closed position then re tighten the screws. Hope this helps, Regards, Chris

I get mine from Chris Westfall, he's a sponsor here. They are from Kohler work great, and when you put the screws back in the choke butterfly, I'd use a dab of blue lock tight. You don't want them coming back out and into the intake!

Check for this part number. I picked them up at my Local Ace Hardware Store.
I used two for the shaft. ![]() ![]() They also had the screws for the butterfly plate.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
