The short answer is yes.
The brake disc, or puck(#1) sits in the piston (3#) which rides in a cylinder in the reduction housing.
The piston tends to get corroded or rusted in the cylinder and does not release pressure.
Does it feel like your brake is dragging?
Check that all your linkages are moving freely, especially the pin (#7) through the arm (#8) and where it goes through the holes in the reduction housing.
