3-Pole lights
My 126 has 3-pole lights in it .When I got it the wiring harness was missing .All the wiring diagrams show only 2 post on the back of the bulb. How do I wire one with 3 post on them up to see if they even work ?:bigthink

on the bulb you would have a common terminal, and a terminal going to the lo beam filament, one going to hi beam filament. you could check for continuity with a meter first, or put 12 volts across any 2 terminals. It wont short- worst case is both elements lighting dimly.

forget the meter . duh. it should show continuity any way you connect it. unless bulb is bad ... :beer2:

Three terminal head lamps were never offered by IH. This would be an aftermarket modification made by someone.

Thank You both very much this is good info. I didn't think I ever saw a bulb like this on a cub before. High n Low beams on a cub thats funny.:biggrin2:

If you add another switch, like in the footrest, that would kick butt! it would be like a classic car.
|
How about a SPDT switch? One side Low, other Hi. Just have to run an extra wire for the Hi side.

worked on the lights today. Believe it or not they work high n low. I wired them up using a stock switch. To play with the high n low I just switch the wires around. The first pic is high ,second is dim . Hard to tell the diff in the pics.

What wattage are those lights? The high-beam setting may be more than what the S/G can keep up with.

I'm not sure I'll look later. I'm not to worried though they are mostly for show . I don't do much at night. So they prob won't see much use.:beerchug:
