149 headlights

I need a new set of headlights and was looking at an old post about a halogen bulb that will fit. It was a GE H7605 50 watt bulb. I called NAPA and they don't have that nor do any other parts stores here. NAPA has a Wagner BP 1255H7 that is 55 watts. Would this work? Also I am concerned if the cub wiring, electrical system, etc.. will handle this. I don't want to burn up any wires.

Most Cub wiring is rated for 15 Amps (14GA Wire). 55W will draw ~4.6 Amps. You should be good to go.

I'm going to assume he's going to use 2 headlights, so that'd be about 9.2 amps. Still should work, but I'm not sure what size fuse is in there. If it's only 10A you might have issues. I think the starter/generator output is 15A, so you should be fine as far as that's concerned as long as the starter/generator is in good shape.

I've run both 15A and 20A fuses and never had any problem yet. I've found that TSC (Tractor Supply Co.) has very reasonable prices on headlights......about 9 or 10 bucks each and I think that they are Wagner. The GE's at a local JD dealership are $25 each.....but their items are made of gold, right?

I'd just like to point out that both front lights on my 71 are halogen motercycle lights. I believe I'am running a 25 amp Buss glass fuse in a marine-type holder. No troubble keeping the batt. charged when running or burned up wire. Using 16 gauge wire.
