Leaking oil 54inch ZRT

new mower for me ( 2017) When she sits after a mow it appears oil is dripping around the oil valve gizmo, looks easy enough to replace , I see no other area it can be coming from
Is this pretty strait forward , looks like tight quarters , and any other ideas where this leak may be originating? Ive ruled out valve gaskets and any block issues
Thanks in advance

Not to be critical of your technical description of the leak origin (HaHa). I believe a picture may help others diagnose this issue

that would make it too easy :biggrin2: Ill get that done

Transmission or engine? if it's is the Transmission I find You Have to remove the side that is Leaking to replace the O-ring or seal

If it the Oil drain Valve from the engine You May Just need to tighten it:ThumbsUp:

got it figured out, it was the drain valve, who thought it was a good idea to place it where it is on this engine, crazy... but now fixed thanks

You had a valve installed on the oil drain hose?

MBman 06-25-2025 09:28 AM

the oil drain plug is a combination drain plug and valve you turn to drain oil, that in turn goes into a drain hose, dumbest set up Ive ever seen

I hate the drain hose on my Z-Force SX54. I wish they had utilized a hard line. The drain hose is fine on the XT3GSX. But for some reason it's a pain to get the drain plug out of the soft lines on the zero turns, at least in my case.
