1864 service manual
I noticed there was oil on my deck the other day and found the power steering unit is leaking from the top where the steering shaft goes in. I purchased a seal kit for the steering unit. I have two 1864s and would like a service manual. I have searched and could only find the owners manual.
Thanks in advance for your help. Redhead |
Here is the manual for the steering rebuild.
https://www.parker.com/literature/27...%20service.pdf Did you get the Steiner kit? The Cyclops service manual is #772-4166. I can email it to you but it should be on here somewhere. |
1864 service manual
thanks for the service manual for the power steering unit. I really had no luck with cub cadet dealers for parts but was told that John Deere used the same unit. so i got the seal kit from JD. I will look for the service manual also. thanks for your help.

1864 Svc manual - try this
Tried to upload the manual but it exceeds the file size for this board.
Email me and I'll send it, or more likely give you a Google docs link to download it. |

I don't know the differences between an 1862 and an 1864 but the service manual at this link covers similarities....

Could you post the JD part number for the seal kit, I have a 2182 that is also leaking fluid from the power steering unit, Thanks.

Here's the overpriced Greenie boy kit.
https://www.greenpartstore.com/John-...-AM107078.html You want this kit. https://www.messicks.com/part/21-sk000011/sealkit And just in case the springs go flying across the room you will need this kit. https://www.messicks.com/part/21-401443x1/spring-a Not that hard of a repair. Here is when I did my 1772. https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...ad.php?t=27895 Here is the best write-up of a PS rebuild i have seen. https://www.mytractorforum.com/threa...n-pics.208848/ |
Thanks for the info, love this forum for the experience type of response that you can count on.
