Hydraulic Pump differences?

Can someone please direct me to the info or explain the differences between the two pumps. Other then ported or non-ported. From my understanding there is a Sunstrand and a? I know so little about them. I'm not even sure my question is right.

Sunstrand Pumps
The SGT's used pumps with a different output shaft to mate to the 68 tooth reduction gear. The GT's had a different output shaft to mate to the 66 tooth reduction gear.

Then Cub Cadet used the Hydro-Gear hydro pump on models like the 1440, some 1541's, 1641, 1861 & the 1863's. I believe those machines were priced a little cheaper than models with the Sunstarnd pumps when new.

Cub Cadet used the Sundstrand 15U Hydro's, in their Garden Tractor line up. There were two versions. (a) Ported, and (b) non-ported. The Non-Ported was the most popular, used in the majority of tractors. The "ported" hydros were used in tractors that had "front hydraulic outlets".

Cub Cadet also used Hydro Gear and Peerless transmissions for the entry level equipment for a lower prices. Mainly seen in Lawn Tractors.

One can change the Sundstrand output shaft gear, but it requires disassembly of the hydro.
There is one tooth difference between them, with the super having one tooth less than the non super models, as it makes up for the larger rear tires on the super making for the same in overall speed of the tractors.

Are there different manufactures of pumps and the only dif is the name?

Sundstrand and Hydro-Gear are 2 different company's and their pumps are completely different.

They completely switched to Hydro-Gear on the 3k series and up. That series started in 1998.

Once again thank all you for the info!

Ported hydros were used with a single spool valve on tractors with hydraulic lifts. A 2 spool valve was used with the ported hydros for the front hydraulic outlets.

I respectfully disagree.

See the link to a picture of the ported and non ported pumps. A ported pump can handle one or more external hydraulic circuit. It does not define how many circuits are used.
