Cub Cadet 2084 Engine Kohler CH20 removal Instructions Needed
2 Attachment(s)
Hello;
Seeking some instructions on how to remove the Kohler Engine from this 2084. Any documents, tips appreciated. This is a parts tractor and I need to get the engine out DANMAN |
Take the six 3/8" bolts out from under the frame. 9/16" socket and a ratchet and a 9/16" gear wrench for the two that are over the axle. Then you can pull it with the motor plate. Drive shaft will slip out of the CV joint that is bolted to the engine so no need to deal with that. Fuel line, choke and throttle cable electric and your good to go.

How much for the driveshaft?

I would be interested in ALL power steering components, hardware, linkages..

I've pulled and replaced many Briggs and Kohler's in these Cyclops and I never removed those bolts. I always pull the grille off though. Maybe that is the difference? I'm not sure you could get the engine out with the grille on and not taking those two bolts out? |

Mike the motor plate has 6 bolts that hold it to the frame, 4 are easy to get at from underneath 2 sit in the channel above the axle. I'm talking about the 2 circled in red in this pic from the top. :bash2:

In the past I removed the six bolts and slid the motor forward. Then unbolted the motor from the plate for removal. This past week I pulled the motor from my 2072. I left the motor bolted to the plate. Went much easier that way than I thought it would. Just slide plate forward to have the notch clear the bolt. The only rough spot I had was tilting the plate to clear the front hydraulics and it wasn't to bad.
