Rim prices
I can get a pair of 8.5" John Deere Rims close to my house. They want $50 with turf tires (23x10.5x12), or $40 for just the rims. I've never bought rims before (other than the 6x12 ag tires and rims I got for $40), so I don't know if that price is fair or not. If it is an ok price, any problems I would have as far as offsets, etc? I don't know if there is a difference in the rims for JD tractors vs. Cub Cadets. I believe they were off of a 314.
Thanks, Jason |
Jason,
How bad do you want/need?? Look at what new turfs run, what are rims going for on flea-bay, how good of shape are the tires themselves in? If you're worried on offset, measure a cub wheel and take that and a tape along to go look. if it is that close a simple trip would be the key. |
Rim prices
Jason,
If they are true JD rims you might want to look closely at the valve stem holes, there normally on the opposite side of a cub rim. Good Luck,Bruce |
Most JD rims I've seen are a weird offset. I'd look for CC rims if I were you.

Thanks for the replies, I'll think I'll pass for now.
