Cub 124 New Wheels

Hi guys;

I blew out a wheel bearing this weekend. As I looked at the original wheels they both had pry marks and the collar for the bearings were bent. Long story short, new front wheels and bearings. The wheels still seem to have some slop mayby <1/8 lateral slide on the spindle. Is this normal. The new spindle on the left is the same play as the OEM spindle on the right. The bearings seated flush on the collar and the spindle bolts with one flat washer are the same as the parts diagram.
I hate to spend all of this money on new stuff only to have it wear out?!

I appreciate any thoughts....And yes I will post a picture soon.

Thanks to all who respond.

Cheers,

Roy

:beerchug: Welcome to Only Cub Cadets! A picture is worth a thousand words! I'am not the expert, so I'll turn it over to them. In the mean time, I'll try to help ya with any info. I can share.:beer2:

You can get some shim washers to take up some of the slop if you like, but that is pretty normal. There is no preload on the bearings or anything.

As Matt says, 3/4" shim washers (I get them from Ace Hardware) on the INSIDE of the wheel. :American Flag 1:
