New to Cub Cadets

Thanks for letting me in. I have just acquired a cub 1810 that looks very nice. But it won't start every time. Seems like a fuel issue. It always has spark. I can use carb cleaner and starting fluid and it still won't pop off. But sometimes it will fire right up and run like a champ. I've always wanted a cub cadet. But this is starting to change my mind.

First, welcome to OCC......... :Welcome2:

I assume you realize that Cub Cadet bought a Kohler M-18 for that model. Thus the issue you are having is with the Kohler Engine and NOT Cub Cadet.

Since the Kohler engine utilizes the M-18 with a magneto ignition, this has been found to be rather reliable, as far as endurance.

Don't know what you mean by "pop off"...

I would suggest, your issue has something to do with fuel delivery. A partially plugged fuel filter, bad fuel lines, vent, or fuel pump.

Have you done a compression test on the engine? Does the spark look strong or weak? Is the fuel pump working? Have you checked the oil to make sure its not full of gas?
