Paint

This is a can of paint that i picked up today. I plan on using on the wheels and hood of my 73. It's called "Cadet White" 759-3264. Is there a difference between the paint on the new cubs and the paint on the older ones? :bigthink: |
Paint
There were three different whites from 1961 to 1989.. IH 901, IH 902, and IH 935.. the Cadet white you have is the same as the IH 935..
The 902 white would be correct for a 73 I believe, but what you have is close and would look fine im sure. There is a nice chart in the tech section of this forum Here is a link for you http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19 Good luck and have fun!!:beer2: |
How about the yellow? Are they all the same or slight variations?

QUOTE] Its just paint, it comes back off. Any paint is better than rust. If its not a pristine original condition machine worth preserving as is, then have at it. Drills, welders, torches, plasma cutters, discarding USEABLE original parts---then you have entered the realm of blasphemy. |

Your machine, paint it to suit what you want it to look like. I have no issue with people painting a Cub red and white if that is what they want. When I painted my 1872 project I built I painted it red with white wheels and a black frame. It suits me and most people like it.
Attachment 95595 The ones that do not, well I do not care. I built it to suit me and I am happy with it. I say go for it. and good luck. |
I INSIST that my Cub Cadets remain absolutely factory stock!! :bigthink:
http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...1/D7K_0852.jpg The yellow paint in this pic is "old" CAT yellow directly from a Caterpillar dealer,,, :biggrin2: For comparison,, the mower deck is the original powder coat, it was not painted,,, |
