Hi yall I have a quick question I'm certain someone on here can easily answer... the back part of my generator/starter has a tab broke off. Question is What type of metal is it and can it be welded/brazed back together or am i better off trying to find a new one somewhere? Thanks in advance and hope all of you had a great weekend. Go Duke!

i believe its cast aluminum, your best bet would be to find a new one.

It will either need to be tig welded or replaced.

Craig made a new one for his starter / generator

I would replace it if was me.

My local NAPA store had a replacement starter end frame. Not sure what the part number is.

If you get it welded, your going to have to remove the paint....

Hello, and when you get it fixed, don't tighten those end bolts to tight. The adjustment bolt will hold the belt tight. Mike
