Carb Screw Size

HELP! I have a kohler k301. What is the screw size are used for the throttle shaft? Where can i buy them?

If you are talking about the screws that hold the butterfly to the throttle shaft, they are #4-32's. You will have to order them, most all part/hardware stores don't carry any that small. I suggest getting brass, as they are easy to crimp (to keep them from falling out) and also if you break one, they're easier to drill. I get mine in 100ct boxes from McMaster Carr. They can have them on my door in 1 business day.

Thank you! That is a great help.

Wait!!! I am so sorry! They are #3-48's. My bad, I wasn't thinking. I also suggest ordering a tap. They are like $8 and come in really handy if you break one of the screws. :beerchug:

Do you happen to know the bushing size used in the top of the carb to tighten up the throttle shaft???

Note, to avoid breaking the old ones off when removing them, file them smooth and flush w/the shaft as they are peened to keep them from backing out.

I always squeeze the end of the new ones after they have been installed w/a pair of needle nose vise grips to bung up the threads.
